50 Releases I Loved in 2024

Seeing him at the Fonda was such an incredible gig - I remember thinking this guy is really pushing music forward and doing something new which is so rare to encounter. Also the sound was amazing, one second there was perfect silence and the next your ears were bleeding from the wall of noise - loved it. I remember seeing a TikTok of a girl covering Are You Looking Up and realizing his lyrics are deep as well, when I listen to him sing it I barely understand anything he's saying.

I mean come on! How does Jaime keep getting better I don't understand how that is possible. Seeing him at Portola was such a moment. Baddy On The Floor you mean me??

I mean, I know we're all obsessed with her right now. But she deserves it! Crazy voice and I also love how some of her songs like "Good Books" hold back just a little bit.

I think the only artist who has been in my Spotify Wrapped 3 or more years. I literally don't think she could make a bad song if she wanted to and Big Ideas is no exception. I always blast Soup really loud in my car and sing-a-long, and the horny af lyrics of Toro are so funny.

Geez Katie WTF! I was driving listening to The Baton and literally started bawling my eyes out. Such a beautiful concept for a song.

If there was one concert of all time I could go to it would probably be Juan at the Palacio de Bellas Artes. To see Juan perform with a full orchestra, mariachi, and choir, I just think that would be such a powerful moment.

I am so late to the party on this one. I'm just mad at myself that I could have been listening to this album for the past 8 years. The album is such a fun and easy listen. I remember being in the Frankfurt airport when this came on radio and I immediately fell in love with all of their stuff.

This song had a chokehold on me this year. I was taking the train to Madrid after a summer romance in Barcelona listening to this song on repeat and feeling so deeply happy and sad at the same time.

This whole album is so fun. I saw him at The Fonda and the crowd was full of college kids.. I guess that's his fanbase?

The acoustic versions just made me like these songs even more.

I almost cried multiple times at her Forum show. She just gets it.

I need Kaytranada and Duran Bernarr to make a whole album together stat pls. There is no other male singer giving this level of performance and he's just playing with us! Also Still with Charlotte Day Wilson.

Seeing them at the bowl was such a highlight of this year. The people around us were really funny we were all singing along to the guitar melody. At one really quiet moment this girl next to a opened a really loud bag of chips.

Late addition since I literally only heard this song for the first time last week. I am just such a sucker for a sad disco pop beat and laid back vocals. Big Robyn energy.

Gabo's Last Resort is so simple but they just execute it so well.

OK wow this record is such growth from Clairo she must have started journaling or something because the lyrics are deep too. Great album to put on at home. I remember hiking to the Palamidi castle in Greece listening to this for the first time.

She's really emerged into her own on this one. A true artist.

I went to see him at the Moroccan Lounge and they oversold the venue and I couldn't get in the room so I had to leave :(

Actually a great album. Lyrically beautiful. Compromise and Something, Somehow, Someday are amazing songs even if I'm picturing Emma the whole time lol.

It's shocking to me that these songs aren't taking up his whole top 10 on Spotify. Some of his best work to date IMO. Just such a vibey music. Panther City I had on repeat for a minute!

This is the kind of album I show people when they ask what kind of Electronic music I like - I call it cool Electronic.

Whole album is great. Houston is a hit IMO.

Honestly this guy is consistently putting out great music. I like how each song on this EP has a different vibe but he manages to pull it off and make the whole thing cohesive.

His voice and songs are so heartbreaking and the visuals for this album are beautiful too.

Do I actually like something from Post Malone? Crazy. The album cover on this is amazing, they actually dropped a truck into a lake and took the photo right before it hit the surface. Also for a marketing activation they brought the smashed up track to an event, pretty sick.

They were playing this album at Tabula Rasa and I kept Shazaming the songs. 1/2 of the Pointer Sisters, it's criminal how few streams these songs have on Spotify - really think this should be in the cultural Zeitgeist, Your Touch is channeling MJ. (and the album cover too! RIP me)

Honestly just a great Indie Pop album. Had Never Fucking Fall in Love Again on repeat for a bit.
